The Food
We focus on providing staple vegetables. Our quest to provide a wide selection of produce all season long brings a few new and tasty vegetables into the mix. How Does it Work?
Members commit to a package and pick up their food at a central market style pick-up every week during summer and every other week in late fall.
Missed a Pick-Up?
Members are welcome to have somebody else pick up their produce if they are away. If this is not possible, you are welcome to come during the last 30 minutes of another pick-up to collect your share. Unclaimed produce is donated to the food bank.

I would like to place an order for the 2010 season. I would be interested in a half share and would be doing the pick-up on Thursdays in Amherst.
that is sow dirty washing your veggies on a old dirty rusty bed frame
Thank you for your comments about our vegetable washing system. Lets straighten things out a little:
We use food grade water hose, tested well water and wash on a steel bedspring that is outside. Being outside, it is exposed to the sun (the world’s greatest disinfectant). Our bins are washed and never touch the ground between harvest and delivery to our pick-up location. Our vegetables are very safe and the only thing dirty about them might be a bit of our great soil that is left on through the wash process.
If you think that our system is less safe than any of the vegetables available in the stores, do some research and visit some of the big wholesale farms/factories. Check out our Safety Policy on the website too (http://naturesroutefarm.ca/4-our-seasons/7-our-safety-policies-for-you-and-us/).
While we are working towards a concrete floor in our wash area and bigger and more “professional” wash table, we are confident in the safety of our products; in fact, our livelihood depends on it. Please let us know if you have any concerns and thanks again for your comments.
