Hello Kent and Ruth,

I would love to chat with you about a project I'm working on concerning Working Land Conservation Easements in the Chignecto Isthmus. Specifically if you are connected to folks who may be interested in attending any of the information sessions we will be conducting on the topic.
The New Brunswick Community Land Trust is the only group in N.B. to offer this kind of owner-specific conservation easement and we want to get the word out to farmers and woodlot owners who may be interested.

Thanks,

Zach Melanson
Project Coordinator

Thank you for your comments about our vegetable washing system. Lets straighten things out a little:

We use food grade water hose, tested well water and wash on a steel bedspring that is outside. Being outside, it is exposed to the sun (the world’s greatest disinfectant). Our bins are washed and never touch the ground between harvest and delivery to our pick-up location. Our vegetables are very safe and the only thing dirty about them might be a bit of our great soil that is left on through the wash process.

If you think that our system is less safe than any of the vegetables available in the stores, do some research and visit some of the big wholesale farms/factories. Check out our Safety Policy on the website too (http://naturesroutefarm.ca/4-our-seasons/7-our-safety-policies-for-you-and-us/).

While we are working towards a concrete floor in our wash area and bigger and more “professional” wash table, we are confident in the safety of our products; in fact, our livelihood depends on it. Please let us know if you have any concerns and thanks again for your comments.
